About Us

Our History:

Creative Arts Psychotherapists Rosie Strain and Linsey Clark joined together in 2019 to form Relight, a creative business initiative offering workshops, trainings and retreats for those working in the helping professions.

ReLight was founded on Rosie & Linsey’s personal beliefs that the focus on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) should go beyond gaining knew theoretical skills and knowledge and broaden into nurturing the personal aspects of the practitioner through:

  • Creative Methods
  • Collaborative Processes
  • Embodied Development
  • Mutual Respect
  • Shared Learning
  • Empowering Individuals
  • Nurturing of Body, Mind & Soul
  • Nourishing Development Opportunities
  • Compassionate Facilitation

Our Mission:

Relight’s main aim is to provide professional development opportunities of nurturing personal and professional growth for practitioners through creative, embodied CPD, focussing on the practitioners existing knowledge, autonomy and compassion.

  • Personal and reflective development is vital for the growth and well-being of the practitioner.
  • Learning through mutual respect, creativity and compassion allows for a more nurtured, empowered and autonomous individual.
  • Personal development within the professional context ensures practitioners can work in high risk and traumatic arenas safely with proficiency and confidence in their practice.
  • Holistic learning and teaching of the practitioner helps them to develop a safe, nurturing and compassionate professional environment which has a direct positive impact on their clients.
  • Through this kind of CPD practitioners become more equipped and resilient to sustain their ongoing work in the helping professions and respond fully to the needs of their professional community.

Our Methodology:

The professional development opportunities provided by Relight are designed in response to both the needs of the professionals working and the communities of clients that they serve.

Trainings, Workshops and Retreats are all facilitated from a person-centred perspective, with the amount of structure and focus varied; this is dependent on the overarching aims and objectives of each CPD experience and the content is designed to flow with the needs of the participants.

Relight’s role is not to place themselves in the role of teachers, but rather as facilitators and witnesses of the creative and reflective process.

Our role is to enable an embodied exploration of themes and it is paramount that each participant feels safe and respected enough to explore freely without fear of having to get things right or wrong; or having to leave with a specific knowledge base. Rather they leave with an embodied sense of nourishment, achievement, well-being and empowerment.
